Training
The Fidelis Group offers comprehensive training programs at your site or ours for Reliability Modeling using Titan software. We can tailor a training package to meet your objectives, or provide you with an existing course program.Titan System and Reliability Modeling Level I (2 days) - covers the fundamentals of reliability modeling and provides the participant with instructions for building a simple model. The course focuses on preparing the user for changing basic inputs and viewing results of existing models. Prerequisite - Basic Reliability Engineering Principle Training.
Titan System and Reliability Modeling Level II (2 days) - builds on Level I Training and covers an in depth theory of Reliability Modeling and prepares the student for designing effective reliability studies and building models of intermediate complexity. This course provides an introduction to customization of models using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Prerequisite - Titan System and Reliability Modeling Level I
Titan System and Reliability Modeling Level III (3 days) - is rigorous instruction in advanced Titan techniques including Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), interfacing with databases and maintenance systems, advanced model customizations, flow management, storage management, and sparing analysis. This course is customized and tailored to the client's needs. Prerequisite - Titan System and Reliability Modeling Level II.
Effective Optimization Techniques with Reliability Modeling (2 days) - The ultimate goal of using reliability modeling is to optimize a systems design or support based on economics. Often times a model is used to simply quantify the delta in performance between a few chosen scenarios. But are the chosen scenarios the best options? The Fidelis Groups state-of-the-art Optimization Tool allows for robust optimization on any system. Reliability Models typically have variable inputs (tank sizes, flow rates, spares, etc) which all affect model outputs to some degree. It is often impossible to exhaustively test all possible combinations of input values to determine the optimum solution. This two-day course of instruction demonstrates how to use the Fidelis Optimizer in conjunction with Titan or even spreadsheet analyses to quickly solve challenging optimization problems when exhaustive approaches are impractical. Prerequisite - Titan System and Reliability Modeling Level III.
Effective Reliability Modeling with Uncertainty (half day) - How many data points are sufficient for a useful distribution? How much do distributions based on small data sets affect model outputs? These questions and more are answered in this half-day course. The course shows the distinction between variability and uncertainty. While most discreet event models provide a measure of the risk due to statistical variability, the uncertainty is usually overlooked which may significantly affect model outputs. This course shows not only how to identify when uncertainty analysis should be applied to Reliability Models, but also provides instruction on how to properly quantify and apply uncertainty to Reliability Model inputs. Practical real-world examples are worked through, including how to derive meaningful results from models with inputs based on very small data sets. Prerequisite - Titan System and Reliability Modeling Level III.
